I'll ask the questions you've been avoiding.
That's the job. The part you leave out of a share is usually the reason someone needs to read your book.
I grew up around people telling the truth about their lives, out loud, to a room full of strangers. That's still my favorite kind of story.
Where I come from
I was raised in the rooms. My father got clean in 1985, so I grew up around honest stories told out loud. I've been clean myself since November 2017.
With a year clean, I enrolled at the Community College of Philadelphia. That road led to a master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and then to my role as Director of Jewish Graduate Life at Harvard Hillel.
Why books
I read a book every three or four days. I know what holds a reader and what makes them put a book down. I also know most people with a powerful story will never write it alone. Not because they can't tell it, but because writing a book is a different skill.
How I work
- I'm a straight shooter. I'll tell you when something's missing, or when you're protecting yourself on the page.
- I'm not a ghostwriter. Your book is drafted from your words, in your voice, and you're the author.
- I'm not a publisher. I don't take royalties or rights. I'm paid for my time, and that's it.
- I handle the tech, so you never have to.
Credit is usually "with Moriah Sandidge" on the cover or title page. If you'd rather keep the cover yours alone, we'll talk about it.
